Tony Ageh has held various roles at the BBC since 2002. As Controller, Internet he was
responsible for the creation and delivery of the BBC iPlayer. He is currently Controller, Archive Development & Digital Public Space, delivering the BBC’s strategy for making the programme archive more available and developing the Digital Public Space.
His early career was in print publishing. He joined Guardian Newspapers in 1990.
At The Guardian he devised their weekly entertainment magazine The Guide, and lead the
Guardian’s move online, making it the first UK paper with an internet presence.
He has also been Creative Director of Richard Branson’s virgin.net and publisher of
upmystreet.com.
