EAGLE is a Best Practice Network focused on Classical Latin and Greek epigraphy, which provides Europeana with more than 1.5M of images and related metadata of inscriptions coming from 25 EU countries, including translations of selected texts for the benefit of the general public. Among the project activities, EAGLE is developing 2 applications to validate the project’s results with real users (both professional and non-professional) and reuse digital cultural content: a mobile application to enable tourists to understand inscriptions they find on location, and a storytelling application to allow teachers and experts to assemble epigraphy-based narratives for the benefit of less experienced users.
