The EuropeanaSpace project organized an exciting event about the use and re-use of cultural digital content, in particular dance. Participants formed teams and during two days of focused and intensive collaboration, with assistance from the hackathon ambassadors (experts in programming, BCI technologies, motion-tracking, and cultural heritage), explored new creative ideas, design and develop prototypes.
The Prague Dance Hackathon focused on the re-use of cultural heritage materials in live performance, cross-media storytelling, motion tracking and transformation of data, brain/computer interfaces in performance. We encouraged participants to combine different aspects of these elements to create something truly new and unique that will shake up the market!
We were seeking creative and driven participants with a passion for dance, technology and digital cultural heritage that want to take their creative ideas and prototypes to the commercial sector and raise the possibilities for creative re-use of cultural heritage material and dance technology.

The objective of this full-day session will be to explore the business potential of the project ideas. At the workshop, these three finalists will have an additional chance to win three months of tailored business incubation from world-class industry leaders via Skype. Incubation participants will be asked to complete a series of mentored courses over an intensive three-month period. By the end of the Incubation period, the business plan for each project team will be ready either for pitching to investors, or for launching directly (as applicable).

The warm up pre-event with ambassadors will take place at CIANT Lab and this meeting will give you the chance to meet the right people with the right skills and right equipment – not only for preparation of Prague Dance Hackathon. In CIANT Lab you consult your ideas and concepts with Cyril Kaplan (BNCI and biofeedback systems), Dmitri Berzon (VVVV, hacking, light), Ivor Diosi (new media art), Roman Trochta (lasers, interactive installations).

11.00-12.00: Teaming up: the participants will build up the teams or groups for common work
